Naomasa Nakagawa authored an article entitled “Preliminary Explanation of the Draft Guidelines for the Revised Whistleblower Protection Act” for Business Homu.

The Whistleblower Protection Act was substantially amended in June 2020 to require the establishment of an intra-company system necessary to appropriately respond to whistleblowing. The government will release “guidelines” expected to be used for establishment of such system.  In April 2021, the draft guidelines were published by the Consumer Affairs Agency.  This article explains and comments on the draft guidelines, which will be of help to check your company’s whistleblowing system.
